Budgeting a 2BHK Interior: What ₹ Goes Where
By WideSpace Team · 30 April 2026 · 7 min read

A 2BHK is the most common project we take on, and clients are often surprised by how the budget actually splits. Here's a rough map to set your expectations before you sit down with a designer.
Where most of the budget goes
- Kitchen and wardrobes — usually the largest share; this is where quality shows daily.
- Living and dining — TV units, seating and the pieces guests notice first.
- False ceiling and lighting — smaller line, big impact on how the home feels.
Where it's worth spending more
Spend on the things you touch every day — kitchen hardware, wardrobe fittings, and the sofa. Save on decorative elements you can upgrade later. Good bones first, styling second.
Where you can save
Feature walls, statement lighting and décor are the easiest places to phase in over time. A smart plan builds in room to grow, so you're never forced to overspend on day one.
The single biggest budget-saver, though, is a good plan up front. Rework and change-orders mid-project are what blow budgets — not the finishes themselves.
